Feetish

Feetish is a finely crafted boot sculpted entirely from hardwood, transforming a familiar object of fashion and function into a study in craftsmanship, material, and form.

Constructed from contrasting Wenge and Padauk, the sculpture relies entirely on the natural colors, grain, and character of the wood—no stain or paint is used. The deep, almost black tones of Wenge are paired with the rich red-orange of Padauk, creating visual contrast while allowing the materials themselves to become the artwork.

By recreating a boot in an inherently rigid material, Feetish challenges the viewer’s expectations of what wood can become. The piece celebrates the precision and patience of woodworking while elevating an everyday object into something tactile, sculptural, and unexpected. The title adds a playful nod to our fascination with footwear, fashion, and the objects we choose to wear as expressions of identity.
